A tour of the Hitchcock County Museum, starting at 4 p.m., will precede the annual meeting of the Great Western Cattle Trail Association of Nebraska on March 23.

The group will then travel to North Shore on U.S. Highway 34 just north of Swanson Lake for a meal beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The annual meeting will begin at 7:15 p.m. and include information of the August National Meeting in San Antonio, Tex.

This convention will include a tour to the original beginning of the Great Western Cattle Trail.

Steps have been taken to designate the Western Trail as a national trail. An update of the progress will be presented by Co-Chairman Ted Tietjen of Grant.

The marking of the GWCT has moved into the Panhandle and will include markers at Bridgeport, Chimney Rock and Lingle, Wyo.

There will be a charge of $14 for the meal, payable at the door.

For reservations, please contact Secretary Pam Potthoff at 308-737-7840 or at coyotepp@bwtelcom.net by Monday, March 20.
