Bridgeport man sentenced to life for murderTell North Platte what you think

Zachary Mueller of Bridgeport was sentenced to life imprisonment Monday for the first-degree murder of Pedro Adrian Dominguez in 2015.

Dominguez was shot in a vehicle outside Bridgeport on Nov. 23, 2015, the Nebraska Attorney General’s office said. Dominguez’ body was put into a barrel, which Mueller disposed in a small creek west of Bridgeport.

A landowner along the creek found the barrel, leading to the discovery of Dominguez’ body.

Dominguez was from Greeley, Colo.

Mueller was also sentenced to 20-40 years for using a firearm to commit the murder as well as 20-40 years for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

All sentences will run consecutively (one after the other) to each other, the Attorney General’s office said.

The Morrill County sheriff’s office conducted the investigation, with assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol.

Assistant Nebraska Attorney General Doug Warner and Morrill County Attorney Travis Rodack prosecuted the case.
