Willow St. overlay continuesTell North Platte what you think

Southbound traffic at B and Willow, Tuesday morning

Western Engineering crews began overlaying Willow St. Tuesday, a job that is expected to take two weeks.

Work started south of B and continued to Leota. Blacktop was removed to create a smooth surface for the new asphalt overlay.

When finished, the overlay will cover Willow, all the way from Leota to Rodeo Road, the city’s engineering department said.

Traffic delays, as well as closed lanes should be expected, so motorists are advised to take alternate routes, city engineering spokeswoman Geni Karre said.

Caution is especially urged around the construction area.

Traffic control signs are for the safety of motorists as well as construction workers, so please follow the posted signage, Karre said.

“The North Platte Engineering Department thanks you in advance for helping make this a safe and expedient project,” she said.
